Fairfield, Conn. - The Loyola College volleyball team fell to Fairfield Sunday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Alumni Hall. The Greyhounds fall to 5-17 overall and 3-5 in the MAAC while the Stags improve to 10-6 overall and undefeated in conference play at 7-0.
Fairfield won by scores of 30-12, 30-24 and 30-16.
Loyola was led by freshman Karlee Woodward's eight kills. She was followed by senior Blair Snyder with seven. Freshman Chrissey Cruz tallied 22 assists. Snyder led in digs with 10 while freshman libero Kimi Gabriel added nine.
Fairfield's Jazmin Pa'akaula led with 16 kills, 12 digs and four block assists. Lindsey Lee added 11 kills and 10 digs. Barbie Thistle was credited with 42 assists.
Loyola returns home next weekend to host Niagara on Saturday, October 14 and Canisius on Sunday, October 15. Both games start at 2:00.
