American Sweeps Volleyball In Wednesday Night Tilt

WASHINGTON, D.C. - American University, which won 10 Patriot League titles from 2001-2011, swept Loyola University Maryland volleyball in three sets, 25-18, 25-12, 25-16, on Wednesday night in conference action.

The Eagles, who never trailed in the match, improved to 17-1 overall and 3-0 in Patriot League play with the victory.

American hit .481, with 44 kills and just five errors in 81 swings, in the match and held the Greyhounds to a .162 mark.

Kristyna Lindovska led the Eagles with 11 kills, and Juliana Crum hit .714 with 10 kills in 14 errorless swings.

Faye Lukas had 10 kills for the Greyhounds, while Jac Bullock posted eight.

Loyola returns to Reitz Arena for the first time since September 7 for a pair of Patriot League matches this weekend. The Greyhounds host the U.S. Military Academy at 7 o'clock on Friday night, and College of the Holy Cross on Saturday at 2 o'clock.
