Women's Volleyball Falls To Siena

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola women's volleyball team fell to Siena in a home match played at Towson on Saturday morning. The Greyhounds, now 2-3 in the MAAC, dropped games of 30-28, 30-12 and 30-24 in falling 3-0 to the Saints, who are 5-0 in the conference this season.

Freshman Karlee Woodward led the Greyhounds with eight kills while Chrissey Cruz registered 18 assists in the loss. Cruz also had a match-high four service aces and six digs along with Kimi Gabriel.

The Greyhounds came out strong and dropped an exciting Game One, which saw four lead changes and seven ties. Game Two, however, went the way of the Saints with Siena taking 11 of the first 12 points. Loyola rebounded and posted 24 points in the Game Three defeat.

Nadiege Honore's led Siena with 12 kills while Burgandy McCurty added 11. April London led all players with 38 assists and 11 digs in the match.

Loyola is now 4-15 overall while Siena improves to 9-8 on the season. The Greyhounds host Marist on Sunday at Reitz Arena. That game is slated for a 5 p.m. start.
