MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Despite 11 kills from senior outside hitter Becky Corb and sophomore Christina Greenup , the Greyhound volleyball team (3-12) ended their six-match road trip with a three-game loss to Robert Morris University (7-8) at the Sewall Center on Tuesday evening.
The Colonials, who have won three of their last four matches, earned the victory with scores of 30-19, 30-19 and 30-19.
With her 11 kills, Corb ran her streak of consecutive matches with 10 or more kills to eight straight matches. She recorded the 11 kills with just four attack errors. Meanwhile, Greenup added her 11 kills in 34 attack attempts.
Jennifer Stambaugh led the Colonials to the victory with a match-high 14 kills against just two attack errors as Robert Morris hit .436 for the match, including a hitting percentage of .528 in the second game when the Colonials did not record an attack error.
Cyndi Dunslow added 12 kills while setter Tawyna Storino recorded 41 assists in the victory. Alaina Gibson added a match-high 17 digs for the Colonials.
Loyola, which started the season with 13 of its first 15 matches on the road, returns home to start a brief two-match homestand on Thursday night against Morgan State. The match is scheduled to begin at Reitz Arena at 7:00 p.m.
