JERSEY CITY - Loyola University Maryland played five freshmen in the second and third sets, and the Greyhounds earned a 25-15, 34-32, 25-11 victory at Saint Peter's College on Sunday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Atheltic Conference action.

Lauren Arnold made her first collegiate start and responded with a double-double. She logged 13 kills with only three errors in 25 swings for a .400 hitting percentage. Arnold also led all players in the match with 16 digs. Her 13 kills tied her season-high set on September 9 against TCU.

Tina Catanach had a match-high 15 kills and hit a season-best .419, needing only 31 swings. Catanach and Arnold were the first two Greyhounds' players to post .400 or higher hitting percentages in the same match this year.

It was good to see some younger players get an opportunity and not only contribute but contribute well," Head Coach Jake Lawrence said. "Lauren Arnold started and played very well. Tina had a good game, and I thought Lauren Andersen set a very good game.

"We still have a lot to work on in practice, but we are going to go back, work hard and get ready for George Washington on Wednesday and then a MAAC roadtrip to Fairfield and Iona next weekend"

As a team, the Greyhounds (5-11 overall, 2-2 MAAC) hit .275, their best hitting percentage of the year.

Loyola is back in action on Wednesday night at 7 o'clock when it hosts George Washington in its non-conference finale. The Greyhounds travel to Fairfield and Iona next weekend to continue MAAC action.
