PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Senior outside hitter Becky Corb tallied a season-high 27 kills and added 16 digs as the Greyhounds (3-11) snapped a four-match losing streak with a tough five-game victory over LaSalle University (6-6) in a non-conference volleyball match at Tom Gola Arena on Tuesday evening.
The Greyhounds won their first road match of the season with scores of 23-30, 30-26, 27-30, 30-27 and 15-11.
Corb, who has recorded double-digit kills in her last seven matches, hit .303 in helping the Greyhounds to the victory. She has registered 20 or more kills four times this season to go with four double-double efforts.
Corb was one of two Greyhounds to record double-digit kills in the win over LaSalle. Sophomore Christina Greenup tied a season high with 16 kills for the Greyhounds, who registered a season-high 76 kills in the match.
Freshman Marcellee Williams added her team-leading fifth double-double of the year with 52 assists and 13 digs. She also matched a season-high with six kills in the victory.
The Explorers, who were returning home after a six-match road trip, were led by freshman Christa Dominick, who had a team-high 20 kills. Freshman outside hitter Jackie Kushman added 18 kills for LaSalle, which has lost three of its last four matches.
The win snapped a 12-match road losing streak for the Greyhounds, dating back to last season. Prior to Tuesday's win, Loyola's last road victory came against Marist last November.
Loyola concludes its six-match road trip next Tuesday night when the Greyhounds take on Robert Morris at 7:00 p.m. The Greyhounds return home next Thursday night to face Morgan State at Reitz Arena.
