Greyhounds Fall to American, 3-0

WASHINGTON, DC - The American volleyball team defeated Loyola Saturday, 3-0, as a part of the Eagles' tournament. American improved to 3-7 with the win while the Greyhounds fell to 1-12.

American defeated the Greyhounds quickly in the first game by a score of 30-10. Loyola made things closer in Game Two, but still came up short, falling 30-23. AU closed out the match by taking Game Three, 30-18.

Loyola was led by freshman Susanna Leffers with nine kills and sophomore Becky Corb with seven. Setter Liz Beauregard was credited with 19 assists. On the defensive end, Katie Pruitt and Megan Maguire were credited with 11 and 10 digs respectively.

The Greyhounds return to action Wednesday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. when they welcome Cold Spring Lane-rival Morgan State to Reitz Arena.
