Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's volleyball team fell to Manhattan College 3-0 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener for the Greyhounds at Reitz Arena Saturday evening. With the loss, Loyola falls to 2-12 overall and 0-1 in MAAC play while the Jaspers improve to 3-9 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Manhattan won by scores of 30-23 in game one, 32-30 in game two and 30-23 in game three.
The Greyhounds were led on the attack by Rachel Schillinger and Karlee Woodward's eight kills each. Blair Snyder added six and led in digs with 15. Chrissey Cruz recorded 22 setter assists and nine digs. In addition to Snyder, Kimi Gabriel also registered in the double-digits in dig with 11. Schillinger also posted a game-high in blocks with one solo and three block assists.
For the Jaspers, Kandice Watson recorded a game-high 15 kills. She was followed closely by Sherryta Stokes with 14. Setter Alyssa Getzel tallied 41 assists. Three Manhattan players registered double-digits in digs with Andrea Reiff leading with 11. Kandice and Ashley Watson each were credited with 10.
The Greyhounds remain home to host MAAC opponent Iona on Sunday at 3:00.
