VILLANOVA, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland sophomore middle blocker Jac Bullock earned All-Tournament honors for the second week in a row, this time picking up the accolade at the Villanova Classic.
The Greyhounds (3-8 overall) closed the event on Saturday evening with a 25-21, 25-20, 25-15 defeat at the hands of Colgate University.
Bullock had seven kills and hit .235 against the Red Raiders (3-6) in the Classic finale. She posted 18 kills and two blocks during the weekend.
Loyola took an 18-16 lead late in the first set, a game that featured 13 tie scores and six lead changes, on a Tina Catanach service ace. Colgate pulled within a point, but the Red Raiders gave it right back when Lindsay Young committed an attacking error.
Colgate put up a block on a Loyola attack attempt for the next point, but the Greyhounds went up by three, 21-18, on back-to-back kills by Catanach and Faye Lukas.
The Red Raiders, however, scored the final seven points of the set to close it out with a 25-21 win.
Catanach finished with a team-high eight kills for Loyola, while Bullock, Mindy Maloney and and Lukas each had seven.
