Baltimore, Md. - In their second match of the Chesapeake Challenge the Loyola College volleyball team fell to St. Francis (Pa.), 3-0. St. Francis won by scores of 32-30, 30-21 and 30-24. The Greyhounds were 1-1 on the day and fall to 2-8 overall while the Red Flash were 2-0 on the day and improve to a 4-4 overall record.
Senior Blair Snyder and freshman Karlee Woodward led the Loyola attach with nine kills each. Sophomore Maddie Fuller followed with five. Freshman Chrissey Cruz recorded 26 assists while three Loyola players registered double digits in digs. Snyder led with 17 while freshman Kimi Gabriel added 14 and Cruz 12.
The Red Flash was led by Anne Roosevelt's game-high 14 kills. Rikki Myers and Missi Vaughn dished out 14 and 12 assists respectively. Roosevelt also recorded 16 digs while Lauren Parisi added 14. As a team St. Francis (Pa.) tallied nine service assists, four coming from Angela Shotter.
The tournament pool at Loyola while be joined by the tournament pool from Navy on Saturday. All eight teams will be in Reitz Arena with play beginning at 9:00 a.m.
