CATONSVILLE, Md. - Loyola University Maryland Volleyball team defeated Morgan State, 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-14, 25-15), on Friday afternoon in the first match of the Battle of Baltimore. Sophomore Katie Dircks record 13 kills and 10 digs for a double-double, while Nina Camaioni had 12 kills and four digs.
Sophomore Aubrey Kirven passed out 38 assists for the match. The team recorded 16 kills for the first set, hitting at a .414 clip.
Morgan State’s Erin Cox had 13 kills against the Greyhounds (2-3 overall).
Loyola continues play in the tournament against host UMBC at 6 p.m.
The Greyhounds have two more matches on Saturday, September 4, in the Battle of Baltimore at Morgan State. Loyola will play Coppin State at 1:30 p.m. and Towson at 4 p.m.
