Nina Camaioni doubled up again Friday afternoon grabbing her second straight double-double of the day and Aubrey Kirven continued her strong debut for Loyola. Despite the strong efforts, the Greyhounds fell to 0-2 to open the season as they were downed 3-0 (14-25, 18-25, 27-29) by Bowling Green (1-0) at Robert Morris' Sewall Center in the Duquesne/Robert Morris Tournament.
After going quickly in the first two games, the Greyounds rallied back in the third. Down 8-3 early on, Loyola capitalized on errors and played to its strong serving game. The game stayed close right up through the end. A late block by Kiren and Taylor Koncelik tied the game at 25-25. A kill by Camaioni gave the `Hounds a slim 27-26 lead but the Falcons quickly pulled away and the Greyhounds were unable to get anything past.
Loyola will travel to nearby Pittsburgh tomorrow to take on Duquesne before returning to Moon Township to play Radford.
