MOON TOWNSHIP, PA -- Aubrey Kirven and Nina Camaioni both posted double-doubles in Loyola's 2009 season opener against Robert Morris, but their strong performances were not enough as the Greyhounds (0-1) fell to the Colonials (1-0) in four games (19-25, 15-25, 25-20, 10-25) Friday afternoon at the Sewall Center.

Freshman setter Kirven had a breakout match in her Greyhounds debut tallying 29 assists, 11 digs, and chipping in four kills, a block and a pair of aces. Nina Camaioni had a game-high 17 kills and 12 digs.

The Greyhounds kept up with the preseason NEC favorites with a strong serving and passing game. Kirven, Camaioni and libero Brittany Born all had double-digit digs, with Born posting a game-high 13. The Greyhounds' 51 digs and five service aces were just one shy of the Colonials' totals of 51 and six, but Loyola was out-blocked by 20-4.

The Greyounds continue play this afternoon in the Duquesne/Robert Morris Tournament at 3 p.m. squaring off against Bowling Green.
