Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola women's track team has announced that its indoor season will begin with the Navy Lidlifter in Annapolis, Md. on December 15. The Greyhounds, who return all but two scorers from last year's MAAC Championships, will have high hopes with the addition of a strong recruiting class.
The indoor portion of the schedule, which includes the MAAC Indoor Championships on February 15 and the ECAC Championships on March 1, are highlighted by the prestigious New Balance Armory Collegiate Invitational where last year Andrea Rovegno and Maureen Wynne ran the No. 2 and No. 3 fastest 3000m in Loyola history. The `Hounds will also run in the Penn State National Invitational for the first time in program history.
The outdoor schedule begins at Towson on March 22 and includes the Duke Invitational where Wynne became Loyola's 2nd fastest 5000m runner ever, and the Morgan State Invitational where Paige Thomas last year shattered Loyola's 200m and 400m school records.
The Penn Relays take place April 24-26 while the MAAC Outdoor Championships take place May 3-4 at Rider University. The Greyhounds are coming off their best ever conference championship finish, 4th, at last year's outdoor championship where they missed 3rd place by only 8 points.
