Baltimore, Md. - Former Loyola track coach Julie Culley has advanced to the 5,000-meter finals at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Ore. Culley, who led Loyola's women's track program as head coach and assistant cross country coach, left her position at the school to pursue her Olympic dream prior to the start of the 2007 outdoor season.

At the trials, Culley finished fourth in her heat of the 5,000 meters, running a time of 15:36.50 to qualify for the finals on Friday night. Her heat was the fastest of the day as her time was the fifth fastest among all advancing finalists.
