GREENSBORO, N.C. - After a nearly three-hour delay due to heavy rain, junior Andrea Rovegno of the Greyhound women's track and field team competed in the 5000-meter run at the NCAA East Regionals held at North Carolina A&T State University on Friday evening.
Battling through an injury, Rovegno completed the race in a time of 18:11.37. "We were really startled because [the injury] had been improving all season and this past week, she felt no pain," Coach Julie Culley said. "She was amazing, but it was such a tough way to end [the season]."
Rovegno won the 5000-meter run at the MAAC Championships in early May, qualifying her for the NCAA Regionals.
