Philadelphia, Pa. - Loyola junior Chris Heibell took third in the college men's 5,000-meter race at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. on Thursday night. Heibell, who ran unattached in the event, set a personal best time en route to the school's top finish at the prestigious meet.
Heibell made a tremendous move on the final lap for this third place finish. He moved from seventh to the front of the pack, closing the final lap in 61 seconds. His time of 14:29.7 is a full 10 seonds better than his personal best entering the season.
The Penn Relays are the oldest and largest relay carnival in the country. This is its 113th year of providing top competition.
