BALTIMORE, Md. - Junior Andrea Rovegno of the Greyhound women's outdoor track and field team has been named as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Co-Performer of the Week for the week ending April 23, 2006, it has been announced by conference officials.
Rovegno won the 1500-meter run at last weekend's Widener Invitational, recording a time of 4:40.54. It was her top finish of the season in the event and her second top-five effort in the event this year.
Rovegno shared the award with Manhattan's Tiina Magi (Tartu, Estonia). It is the second time in the last three weeks Rovegno has earned the award.
Rovegno will compete in the 5000-meter run at the Penn Relays this weekend. The Greyhounds will compete at the Lions Invitational at the College of New Jersey on Friday.
