April 5, 2014

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Crystal Godette tied the school record in the 200 meters on Saturday, highlighting a successful final day of competition at the Colonial Relays for the Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team.

Godette clocked a time of 25.99 seconds, matching the previous best set last season by Jeanine Gill.

"This was our best showing as a team at the Colonial Relays, and we are very pleased with the way that it turned out," said Head Coach Amy Horst. "Erica Canas had a huge PR in the 5K last night, and Crystal matched the record in the 200. I was also very happy with our 4x4 (relay team) that was just off the school record at the end of a long two-day meet."

That relay team of Charlotte Criqui, Jacqueline Porter, Marissa Buccellato and Jessa Laspesa clocked a time of 4:01.85, less than a second off the record set last year.

Jenna Smith had a leap of 32-6.25 in the triple jump, and Laspesa was the team's top finisher in the 400 meters (60.35). Cordelia McGinn led Loyola in the 800 meters, running 2:19.88, while Criqui finished in 2:21.01.
