Track Heads Down The Road For Towson Invitational

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola track travels to Towson University on Saturday to compete in the Towson Invitational at Johnny Unitas Stadium. The meet will be the Greyhounds second of the outdoor season.

Last weekend, senior Maureen Wynne shined at the Navy Invitational with a first place finish in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:29. Sophomore Amanda Bossi also ran in the event and finished in 18:34 for a new collegiate PR. In field events, senior Melanie Mitchell threw 34.09 meters in the javelin for the win and placed in the finals of the high jump and long jump.

"I think it was a good day overall and it was great to see where we are after a month of solid training," Head Coach Jackie Truncellito said after the meet at Navy. "We've now got to prep for the meet at Towson."

Saturday's meet is schedule to start around 10:30 a.m. with the 10,000 meter run and several field events including the hammer throw, pole vault and shot put.

Directions from Loyola College: Head north on Charles Street, take a left at Stevenson Lane and then another left at the stoplight onto Osler Drive. Unitas Stadium is located at the next left on Auburn Drive.
