Boston, Mass. - Loyola sophomore Andrea Rovegno ran a one-mile time of 5:08.97 to finish in 23rd place at the ECAC meet last weekend held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center.
Rovegno, who finished .74 seconds behind Alexis Lake of Boston College, became the first-ever Greyhound to qualify for the ECAC meet with her personal best time of 5:00 in the mile that she ran during the George Mason Winter Games.
Jenna Darcy of LaSalle won the preliminary race that Rovegno was a part of with her time of 4:50.49 while Pittsburgh's Maureen McCandless took the overall gold medal in the mile with her time of 4:46.31. McCandless' time makes her an NCAA provisional qualifier.
