Women's Relay Breaks School Record At Patriot League Champs

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Loyola University Maryland women’s track and field relay team of Lisa Potter, Jessa Laspesa, Jacqueline Porter and Claire Scavone combined to break the 4x400m school record on the final day of the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The Greyhounds took seventh in a time of 4:05.50 to top the previous record held by Megan Trainer, Rebekah Rogerson, Marissa Buccellato and Jacqueline Porter in 2013.

Earlier in the day, Potter set a personal record in the 500m placing eighth with a time of 1:19.54. The junior mid-distance runner was the only individual competitor on Sunday to contribute to the team point total, adding one point for the Greyhounds.

The DMR squad of Sarah Askine, Jeanine Gill, Charlotte Criqui and Kiera Harrison were the final Greyhounds to contribute to the total. With a seventh place finish in 12:32.47, the relay team added two final points to the team score.

Fellow Patriot League newcomer Boson University won the women’s Patriot League Championships totaling 210 points. Lehigh finished second with 130 points, while host Bucknell took third with 99.5 points. Navy and Holy Cross rounded out the top-five with 99 and 92 points, respectively.

The Greyhounds finished their first-ever Patriot League Indoor Championships in ninth, combining for 13 points over the three-day meet.
