ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Loyola University Maryland women's track and field relay team of Jessa Laspesa, Charlotte Criqui, Eilis McGovern and Emma Dunleavy combined to break the 4x400m school record on the final day of the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The Greyhounds took eighth in a time of 3:58.01 to top the previous record held by same Loyola quartet earlier this season at the 2015 Armory Track Invitational.
Earlier in the day, Criqui set a program record in the 500m race, placing seventh with a time of 1:17.84. The senior middle-distance runner was the only individual to contribute points to the team total, adding two points for the Greyhounds.
The distance medley relay squad of Sarah Askine, Claire Scavone, Kelly Maguire and Anna Bosse were the final Greyhounds to contribute to the total. With a sixth-place finish in 12:16.40, the relay team added three final points to the team score.
Bucknell University won the women's Patriot League Indoor Championships totaling 180 points. 2014 indoor champion Boston University finished second with 112.5 points, while Lehigh University took third with 107 points. College of the Holy Cross was fourth with 104.5 points, and host the United States Naval Academy rounded out the top-five with 101 points.
Loyola finished 10th, combining for six points over the three-day meet.
