Noreen Petrash breaks her own school record in the pole vault as the Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team finished 11th out of 14 teams at the Ursinus Winter Invitational Saturday in Collegeville, Pa.
Petrash had a mark of 9-6 1/4 to break her own school record of 9-0 set last season at the Navy Blue and Gold meet. Petrash also was 42nd in the 200 meters with a time of 31.74.
Samantha Westley finished eighth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.34 and finished 19th in the 55 meters with a time of 7.95.
In the triple jump, Marci Baileys finished third with a mark of 32-10 1/4, Kelsey Burke finished ninth with a jump of 30-6 1/2 and Claire Okrongly was 10th with a mark of 30-6 1/4.
Alyssa Harrison finished seventh in the high jump with a mark of 4-11 3/4 and 43rd in the 200 meters with a time of 31.99.
In the 4x200 relay, the Greyhounds finished eighth with a time of 1:52.90 and were seventh in the 4x400 with a mark of 4:22.40.
Other finishers at the meet were Courtney Willeford (55m, 8.06 and 200m, 28.32), Angeline Diamond (55m, 8.08 and 200m, 29.70), Paige Godfrey (55m, 8.21), Courtney Marro (200m, 28.54 and 55 hurdles, 9.60), Casey Carey (200m, 28.81 and 400m, 1:06.44), Claire Okrongly (200m, 31.32 and 400m, 1:14.24), Brittany Gruber (200m, 32.66 and 400m, 1:14.32) and Megan Trainer (400m, 1:04.77).
Loyola will compete next on Friday, January 14 at the New York City Gotham Cup in New York.
