ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Loyola University Maryland women’s track and field team tabbed two personal bests in the sprints on the first day of the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Junior Eilis McGovern finished just outside the top-10, taking 11th in the 100m hurdle prelims with a PR time of 16.35.
Rookie sprinter Isabela Ugarte shaved two-tenths of a second from her previous best in the 200m dash, set at the Colonial Relays last month. Ugarte took 26th in the prelims with a time of 27.79. Teammates Crystal Godette and Claire Scavone also ran the same race, taking 17th (26.43) and 22nd (26.98) respectively.
Off the track, Alessandra Piscitelli finished 17th in the hammer throw with a mark of 34.11m. Later that day, teammates Courtney Willeford and Lauren Puleo finished among the top-20 in the javelin. Willeford threw a distance of 31.61m, while Puleo set a mark of 19.90.
Kelly Hilbert was the final field competitor to compete on Friday, taking 22nd in the long jump with a mark of 4.72m.
After the first day of competition, Lehigh University holds steady in first with 42 points.
