Amaducci Wins High Jump, T&F Takes Fifth at MAACs

Lawrenceville, N.J. - Senior Kim Amaducci (Parsippany Hills, N.J.) won the high jump in a school-record 5'7" (1.70m) at the 2010 MAAC Championships Sunday afternoon at Rider University. As a team, the Greyhounds finished fifth of six squads.

With her victory, Amaducci qualified for the NCAA East Regionals (May 27-29) and the ECAC Championships (May 15-17). Amaducci had broken her own school-record in the high jump earlier this season with a 5'6" (1.66m) effort and had been hovering around that mark all season.

In that same event, Lauren Chiaravalloti and Alyssa Harrison tied for fourth with 1.55m efforts.

No other school-records were broken on the day, but the team had several notable finishes on the day.

Freshman Whitney Gibbs took fourth in the 100m, clocking in at 12.62, and also anchored the 4x100m relay to a 49.97 finish, also good for fourth place. Joining Gibbs in the relay was Samantha Westley, Lauryn Granara and Kristina Krupa.

Westley finished the 100m hurdles in 15.79, just hundredths off the school-record for the second-straight week.

Granara also took eighth in the long jump with a 4.54m effort.

In the 5,000m, the Greyhounds had four runners earn points for the team as Amanda Bossi, Colleen Kinealy and Stephanie Gibney finished 3-4-5, respectively. Bossi beat out Kinealy by six-hundreths of a second in 18:46.71. Gibney finished in 18:53.07. Kate Cervo also took eighth in the event in 19:24.31.

The 4x400m relay of Marci Baileys, Jackie D'Antonio, Kelsey Burke and Krupa took fifth in the event in 4:10.98.

Burke also took seventh in the 400m hurdles in 1:08.24 and Krupa finished ninth in the 400m in 1:00.17.

Freshman pole vaulter Noreen Petrash took sixth in her event at 2.80m, Alyssa Doyle took seventh in the 1,500m in 4:49.52, and Emily Doucette ran a 2:20.82 in the 800m, lacing eighth overall.
