PRINCETON - The Loyola University Maryland track team split up Friday night to compete at Princeton’s Larry Ellis Invitational and the Morgan State Legacy Meet down the street from the Greyhounds’ Evergreen Campus.
Senior Erica Canas highlighted events at Princeton, setting a personal-best in the 5,000m. Canas won her heat and took 35th overall in 17:57.73, while fellow veteran distance runner, Sarah Askine ran the 1,500m and finished 53rd with a time of 4:43.65.
Junior Tom Porth was the lone male participant to travel to Larry Ellis. He ran the 5k and set a PR with a time of 15:38.84 (25th).
Back in Baltimore, freshman Courtney Wallace competed in Morgan State’s steeplechase. The rookie distance runner finished sixth with a personal-best time of 12:09.73.
The Greyhounds return to Morgan State tomorrow to complete competition at the Legacy Meet.
