Track & Field Opens 2015 Outdoor Season At Philadelphia Classic

Final Results

The Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team opened the 2015 outdoor season at the Philadelphia Classic on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Eilis McGovern highlighted the day's events with a top-five finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:07.39.

The veteran hurdler also finished 8th in the 100m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 16.93. Teammate Victoria Henry finished close behind in ninth with a time of 17.22.

Earlier in the day, senior Charlotte Criqui and freshman Emma Dunleavy finished back-to-back in the 400m race. The duo took ninth and 10th, respectively, with times of 1:01.54 and 1:01.63.

Senior Kelly Maguire recorded a top-10 finish in the 800m with a time of 2:22.44 (10th place).

Sophomore distance runner Sarah Askine took 7th in the 1,500m race, posting a time of 5:00.69.

The 4x400m relay team of Claire Scavone, Criqui, Jessa Laspesa and Dunleavy took fifth and crossed the finish line in 4:05.87.

Off the track, freshman Lauren Waldeck led the Greyhounds on the field, taking fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.45m/ 4'9". In the pole vault, freshman Sarah Bronk posted a mark of 2.90m/ 9'6.25", finishing 7th overall. Triple jumpers Jenna Smith and Olivia O'Hara took ninth and 10th, respectively, with jumps of 9.92m/ 32'6.5" and 9.77m/ 32'0.75".

The Greyhounds return to action on Saturday, March 28 at the Maryland Invitational in College Park, Maryland.
