Rovegno Sets Mile PR, Qualifies for ECAC's At George Mason's Winter Games

Fairfax, Va. - Loyola sophomore Andrea Rovegno took first place in the one-mile run at Sunday's George Mason Winter Games with a career best time of 5:00.04 to qualify for the ECAC Meet, which is scheduled to be held next weekend at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Mass.

Greyhound senior Jackie Truncellito also ran a solid mile as she finished fourth with a time of 5:27.32. Sarah Spencer and Bethany Gentry grabbed 7th and 8th in the same event.

Loyola's 4 x 800-meter relay team of Rovegno, Spencer, Gentry, and Truncellito placed third with a time of 10:21.56.

Suzanne Mufareh represented the Greyhounds well in the field as she recorded a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 9.56-meters and a sixth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 8.56-meters.
