LEWISBURG, Pa. - On the second day of the Indoor Patriot League Championships Kiera Harrison qualified for the ECAC Championships, running the 5,000m in 17:14.15.
Harrison finished second in the event, compiling eight points toward the team total. The Syosset, N.Y., native will travel to Boston, Mass., in March to compete in the 5,000m ECAC Championships. Competitors must finish the event in 17:33.64, to qualify for the championships.
Highlighting the day's events off the track, sophomore Uchechukwu Emili broke the school record in the weight throw for the third time this season. Emili posted a mark of 14.08m, finishing 11th in the event.
Junior Eilis McGovern set a personal record in the 60m hurdles, finishing in 9.81. The PR was good enough for a top-20 finish, coming in just ahead of teammate Jacqueline Porter at 10.06.
Jeanine Gill also set a new personal best in the 200m, taking 14th with a time of 25.80. The new PR was a .18 second improvement from her previous record set during last year.
As a team, the Greyhounds sit in eighth place after six scored events with eight points. Lehigh leads all teams with 66 points with Boston University close behind with 42 points. Navy rounds out the top-three with 37 points.
Loyola will return to Gerhard Field House on Sunday for the third day of competition.
