ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team opened the first day of the 2015 Indoor Patriot League Championships with seven personal bests at the United States Naval Academy's Wesley A. Brown Field House.
The day began with races in the 60m dash, as Caroline Elmore and Victoria Henry, along with Eileen Pastyrnak and Maria Hacker each fished seventh and eighth in their heats, respectively. Elmore crossed the finish line in 8.53, while Henry came in a tenth of a second behind Elmore. Pastyrnak recorded a time of 8.22, and Hacker set a personal record in 8.63.
The 60m hurdles also marked a number of new personal highs, as all three Greyhounds (Henry, Lauren Waldeck and Kelly Hilbert) broke their previous record. Henry recorded a time of 9.68, Waldeck 9.84 and Hilbert 10.26.
Off the track, Waldeck set her second PR of the afternoon, hitting a mark of 4' 11" in the high jump.
The Greyhounds will return to the track Sunday for the final day of competition. The first event, the mile, will begin at 12:15 p.m., with the last event, the 4x400m relay, concluding at 4:50 p.m.
