Several Personal Bests Broken At PL Indoor Track Championships

BOSTON - A total of eight Loyola University Maryland women's track competitors set new personal records in their respective events to highlight the second day of competition at the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Boston University.

Sophomore Daniella Joyce and junior Claire Scavone posted a pair of personal bests in the 60m dash preliminaries, with Joyce clocking a time of 8.39 and Scavone a time of 8.33. Earlier in the day, freshman Anne Lauder also set a PR in the 60m hurdles after crossing the finish line in 9.80.

A trio of Greyhounds also set new personal bests in the 200m preliminaries, including junior Jessa Laspesa (27.03), and freshmen Erin Gamble (27.08) and Olivia Airhart (27.30).

Both senior Erica Canas and freshman Christina Daniels shaved significant time off their personal records in the 5,000m. Canas finished just outside the top 10, taking 11th in 18:03.88, while Daniels came across the finish line right after her teammate in 18:07.36 (12th).

Loyola returns to the BU Track and Tennis Center for the final day of the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships. For the first time in championship history, Sunday's events will feature live coverage on the Patriot League Network.
