Princess Anne, Md. - The Loyola University Maryland track and field team competed at the 2011 UMES Collegiate Invitational in Princess Anne, Md. Samantha Westley won the 60-meter hurdles and had a time of 28.61 in the 200 meters.
Westley won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.49 and Courtney Marro was third with a time of 9.86. In the 200 meters, Westley had a time of 28.61, Marro finished with a time of 27.84 and Courtney Willeford had a time of 28.31.
Noreen Petrash won the pole vault against seven competitors. She vaulted 9-2 1/2 to win the event. Second place had a mark of 8-6 1/4.
In the 3,000 meters, the Greyhounds finished first through third. Emily Rooney won the event with a time of 11:08.35, Sara Ochs was second with a time of 11:33.55 and Rachel Nerenberg had a time of 11:47.97 to finish third.
In the triple jump, Marci Baileys had a jump of 34-9 1/2 to finish third, Kelsey Burke was fifth with a mark of 32-11 and Claire Okrongly was seventh with a mark of 31-6 3/4. In the long jump, Baileys finished fifth with a jump 15-9 3/4, Burke was sixth with a jump of 15-7 and Okrongly was eight with a mark of 14-3 3/4.
In the weight throw, Angeline Diamond finished fifth with a mark of 30-8 1/2 and Megan Trainer was sixth with a jump of 29-9 1/4. Diamond also had a time of 8.78 in the 60 meters.
Other Greyhounds that competed at the meet were Casey Carey (high jump, 4-7 3/4 & 400m, 1:05.73), Courtney Willeford (60m, 8.65), Chika Dunga (60m, 8.45 & 200m, 28.41), Paige Godfrey (60m, 8.62), Carolanne Chanik (mile, 5:41.42), Margaret Larkin (mile, 5:51.57), Meagan Keane (mile, 5:57.89), Jacqueline Porter (400m, 1:04.40), Brittany Gruber (400m, 1:09.40), Kristina Krupa (400m, 1:02.87), Claire Reynolds (800m, 2:41.65) and Calli Pappas (800m, 2:30.97).
Loyola will compete next at the 2011 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships Friday in New York.
