Emily Doucette Breaks Own School Record at Thomson Invitational

Newark, Del. - Emily Doucette broke her own school record in the 1,000m as the Loyola indoor track & field team placed fifth of eight schools at the Thomson Invite, held Saturday at the Delaware Fieldhouse. The Greyhounds defeated Saint Joseph's, NJIT and Villanova on the day.

Doucette placed second in the 1,000m in 3:08.07, smashing her own school record by nearly three seconds (3:10.91), which she set at the same Invitational last season. In the same event, Courtney McNamara and Margaret Larkin placed fourth and seventh, respectively, in times of 3:10.39 and 3:24.49, also scoring in the event.

Larkin also scored in the 500m with a 8th place finish in 1:29.18.

Jackie D'Antonio placed third in the 800m in a time of 2:27.29.

Emily Rooney and Alex Beaver scored for Loyola in the 5,000m' placing fourth and seventh in 20:03.70 and 21:22.55.

Noreen Petrash placed fifth in the pole vault with a 2.70m jump (8'10 ¼").

The High Jump saw both Kim Amaducci (5th, 5'1") and Alyssa Harrison (8th, 4'11") score for Loyola.

In the short sprints, Whitney Gibbs clocked in at 8.24 in the 60m, and Kristina Krupa covering 400m in 1:03.03. Both times were good for seventh in their respective events.
