Junior Sets School Record at Patriot Games For T&F

Fairfax, Va. - Junior Emily Doucette set a new school record in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:03.91 as the Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team competed today at the Patriot Games in Fairfax, Va.

Doucette broke the time of 3:04.28 set last season at the Sweetheart Multi-Mix Track and Field Meet by her current teammate Jackie D'Antonio.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Samantha Westley qualified for the finals with a time of 9.52. In the finals, she finished seventh out of 12 competitors with a time of 9.55. Courtney Marro had a time of 10.39 in that event.

In the 4x800 meters, Calli Pappas, Brianne Vozzella, Carolanne Chanik and Doucette finished second with a time of 10:01.16 just less than a second off the school record time of 10:00.93 set in 2008.

In the weight throw, Megan Trainer had a throw of 29-10. She set the school record of 33-1 3/4 last weekend. Teammate Angeline Diamond had a mark of 27-4.

Trainer also had a time of 1:04.53 in the 400 meters, while Kristina Krupa had a time of 1:04.11 and Marissa Buccellato had a time of 1:04.25.

Other competitors at the meet were Courtney Willeford (60m, 8.57), Paige Godfrey (60m, 8.66), Jacqueline Porter (200m, 28.71), Kristina Krupa (200m, 28.75), Casey Carey (200m, 28.69), Jackie D'Antonio (800m, 2:21.38), Noreen Petrash (800m, 2:46.06 & Pole Vault 8-8 1/4), Marissa Galante (Mile, 5:21.35), Victoria Szczawinski (Mile, 5:22.62), Emily Rooney (Mile, 5:42.89), Kiera Harrison (3,000m, 10:34.62), Stephanie Gibney (3,000m, 10:40.60), Amanda Bossi (3,000m, 10:44.90), Kelsey Burke (Long Jump, 13-9) and Marci Baileys (Long Jump, 13-6 1/4).

The Greyhounds will compete Friday and Saturday, February 4-5, at the New Balance Invitational in New York.
