LANDOVER, Md. - Junior Andrea Rovegno finished fifth in the 3,000-meter run as the Greyhound women's track and field team competed at the University of Maryland Terrapin Invitational at the PGSL Center on Saturday afternoon.
"We continue to drop our times and further our marks week to week," Coach Julie Culley said. "I'm excited about the hard work the girls are putting forth as they are getting stronger."
Rovegno earned a time of 10:27.60 to finish fifth in the race while junior Michelle McVann finished in 16th place in the event.
Freshman Melanie Mitchell finished in a tie for 22nd place in the high jump as she recorded a height of 4 feet, 10 inches. Fellow classmate Maureen Wynne completed the one mile run in a time of 5:30.06, which was good for 20th place in the event.
"We have a few more weeks of work before MAAC's and we'll continue with our successes in the upcoming weeks," Culley said.
The Greyhounds travel to George Mason University for the Patriot Games on Saturday.
