BALTIMORE, Md. - Sophomore Meaghan McKenna of the Greyhound women's tennis team has been selected as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 19, it has been announced by conference officials.
McKenna increased her singles win streak to three straight matches with a pair of victories at number four singles as the Greyhounds split two matches last weekend. She earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory in Loyola's loss at Mount St. Mary's on Friday before taking a straight-set win against LaSalle on Saturday afternoon. McKenna added a doubles victory against the Explorers by teaming with junior Christi Lazar for an 8-6 victory at number two doubles.
McKenna is now 6-5 in singles matches this season, including a 5-1 mark in dual matches. She also holds a 4-6 record in doubles.
Now 4-2 on the season, the Greyhounds return to action on Friday when Loyola takes on Delaware State to begin a two-match road trip.
