Women's Tennis Registers Sweep Of Robert Morris

BALTIMORE - Loyola's women's tennis team did not lose a set in singles or doubles play, as the Greyhounds defeated visiting Robert Morris, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Rachel Janasek and Joy Johnson teamed to defeat Kali Delorie and Libby Shaw, 8-2, in No. 1 doubles, while Andie Keyser-Baker and Judy Lite topped Katarina Rudneva and Sara Meier, 8-0, at the No. 2 slot.

Lane Maloney and Jackie Lionetta defeated Maria Olaussen and Gwen Dalphon, 8-2, in No. 3 doubles.

Janasek was then a straight-set winner, 6-0, 6-0, over Delorie in No. 1 singles, and Keyser-Baker defeated Shaw, 6-2, 6-3, in No. 2 singles.

Johnson also was a straight-set victor against Rudneva, in No. 3 singles, while Lite defeated Meier, 6-0, 6-3, in No. 4 singles.

Dana Verona topped Olaussen, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 5 singles, and Rachel Bergeron knocked off Dalphon, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 6 singles.

In exhibition matches, Lionetta defeated Susan Smith, 6-0, 6-2, and Liz Black beat Megan Murray, 6-0, 6-2. Bergeron and Black topped Smith and Murray, 8-1, in an exhibition doubles match.

The Greyhounds travel to Norfolk, Va., next weekend for the Hampton Roads Colllegiates, beginning Friday, October 10.
