Women's Tennis Plays Well At Bucknell Invitational

Lewisburg, Pa. - Loyola's women's tennis teams played well at this weekend's Bucknell Invitational as the Greyhounds competed in their third round-robin tournament in as many weekends.

Claire Najour won her first round match in the "B" singles flight in straight sets by a score of 6-4, 6-3 over Andrea Lee of Providence. Caitlin LaRocco won her first round Flight "C" singles match in three sets over Morgan Flezzani of Villanova 7-6 (4), 1-6, (10-7). Mallory Tarca was the third Greyhound woman to advance to the winners bracket with a first round Flight "D" singles victory over Amanda Marcalus of Marist by a score of 6-1, 6-1.

Jessica Liberatore advanced to the second round of the Flight "A" consolation bracket after defeating Villanova's Leighann Reilly 8-4. Christi Lazar also advanced to the second round of a consolation bracket as she beat Duquesne's Andrea Sailer 8-5. Laura Cuti (Flight C) and Amanda Wilhelm (Flight D) advanced to the second and third rounds of their respective consolation brackets with 9-7 and 8-6 wins.

The Greyhounds also won two doubles matches with Jessica Liberatore and Claire Najour combining to win at No. 1 doubles over Mount St. Mary's and Mallory Tarca and Janet Reuter teamming for a No. 4 doubles victory over The Mount.
