Women's Tennis Falls To Coppin State

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola women's tennis dropped its dual-match opener to Coppin State on Thursday afternoon. The Greyhounds fell 6-2 with wins coming at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

Freshman Kerri Swan captured the No. 3 singles match, winning 6-3, 6-1. A hard-fought victory from freshman Jennifer Zutz at No. 4, a match she won 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, gave the Greyhounds their two match points.

Loyola dropped the doubles' point and fell behind early. Freshman Suzanne Lee battled at No. 5, before dropping two very competitive sets. Lauren Cassle, also a freshman, fell 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.

The Greyhounds return to tournament play next weekend, September 29-October 1, at the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa.
