Towson, Md. - Loyola's women's tennis team finished fifth at the rain-shortened Towson Fall Invitational this past weekend as the Greyhounds fell to Delaware and lost to Georgetown twice at the tournament held on Towson's campus.
Caitlin LaRocco and Laura Cuti recorded the Greyhounds' only point of the weekend with a 7-5, 3-6, (10-5) win at No. 1 doubles against Georgetown on Sunday. No. 4 singles player Claire Najour nearly came away with a win as well, but fell 6-1, 0-6, (10-8) as the Hoyas went on to take the match by a score of 4-1.
Loyola then came up short against both Delaware and Georgetown again by the same 5-0 tally.
Delaware won the tournament with a 4-0 record, Georgetown's No. 2 team finished second at 3-0, the Hoyas' No. 1 team finished thrid at 2-1, Towson took fourth at 1-2, and Monmouth rounded out the field in sixth place after going 0-4.
