Women's Tennis Falls In MAAC Semis To Niagara

Loyola's women returned to action at the MAAC Tennis Championship on Saturday, losing a tough match to top seeded Niagara, 5-2. Niagara swept the Greyhounds in doubles competition, and won 4-of-6 singles matches.

The Greyhounds notched victories, both the No. 4 and No. 5 singles matches. Amy Nitch won a hard fought match in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 10-7. Claire Najour bested her opponent in the No. 5 contest, 6-3, 6-3.

On Sunday, Loyola will compete for third place in the MAAC Tennis Championship. The consolation match will pit the Greyhounds against second seeded Marist College.
