Flushing, N.Y. - The Loyola women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to top-seeded Marist in the MAAC Semifinals at the U.S. Open in Flushing, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds, who won a doubles match, were held scoreless overall and will play for third place on Sunday.
The Greyhound fell in straight sets in singles' play, but the junior captains challenged Marist's No. 5 and No. 6. McKenna fell 6-0, 7-6, dropping a 7-4 tiebreaker at No. 5, while Tarca fell 7-5, 6-0.
Loyola will play in the third-place match on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
