Women's Tennis Upended At UMBC

Baltimore, Md. - Loyola's women's tennis was swept at UMBC on Tuesday afternoon, dropping its overall record to 8-5 overall. The Greyhounds, which fell in straight sets, play Lafayette this Thursday before returning to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) competition.

UMBC won the doubles point, taking sets one and three by 8-3 scores. Jessica Liberatore and Claire Najour competed at No. 1 doubles for the Greyhounds.

Liberatore also played No. 1 singles and fell 6-1, 6-0. Meagan McKenna played at No. 2 while Christi Lazar played at No. 3. Both McKenna and Lazar won four games in their second set, but it wasn't enough to win the match.

The Greyhounds have four matches remaining before the MAAC Championships April 22-24 in Flushing, N.Y
