BALTIMORE - The Loyola men's and women's tennis teams each posted spring season-opening victories on Friday night against St. Francis (Pa.) at the Greenspring Racquet Club.
Loyola's men swept all of the matches, winning 7-0, while the women opened with a 6-1 victory.
Kevin Zingler defeated his opponent, 6-2, 6-4 in No. 3 singles, and Dan D'Agostino won hits match, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4, at No. 4 singles. Jamie Russo rounded out the singles play with a 6-3, 6-4 victory in the No. 6 slot.
Sanai and Norton teamed to rally from a 5-1 deficit in No. 1 doubles to pull out a 9-8 victory. Zingler and McDaniel won, 8-1, at No. 2 doubles, and Tim Koch and Chet Milot won, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles.
On the women's side, Rachel Janasek won the No. 1 singles match, 6-1, 6-4, and Andie Keyser-Baker picked up a 6-2, 6-1, win at No. 3 singles. Judy Lite won, 6-0, 6-1, in the No. 4 slot, while Stephanie Dunn was a 6-1, 6-0, winner in No. 5 singles. Lane Maloney defeated her opponent, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 6 singles.
