DANBURY, Conn. - Loyola University Maryland senior Rosy Hayes was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Women’s Soccer All-Star First Team, as voted on by representatives from the Division’s member institutions.
Hayes, the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, was one of four midfielders to be named to the first team and one of just two players from the Patriot League to pick up ECAC All-Star honors. Boston University’s McKenzie Holenbaugh, the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, joined Hayes on the 11-member first team that features players from Boston University, Hofstra, Princeton and William & Mary, all programs that advanced to the second round of the 2015 NCAA Championships.
The only unanimous selection to the All-Patriot League First Team, Hayes became the program’s first major award winner since joining the League in 2013. She not only led the Patriot League in points (11), but also tied for first in goals (4) and assists (3) in League only contests.
During the regular season, the senior captain led the team with eight goals and a league-best four game-winning goals. In a 2-0 victory over UMBC, Hayes netted both goals to become the first Greyhound to score multiple goals in a game since Nichole Schiro recorded a hat trick in 2012.
For her career, the midfielder from Northport, New York, recorded 13 goals, 10 assists and 36 points.
