KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Loyola University Maryland women's soccer senior Colleen Folan was named to the 2014 NCAA Division I All-Mid-Atlantic Region second team, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches of America Association (NSCAA) Wednesday afternoon.
Folan, an All-Patriot League Second Team selection, was one of five seniors to be named to the region's second team. A two-time Corvias Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, Folan finished the year fifth in the league with 66 saves.
During her time in goal for the Greyhounds, Folan made 75 saves, putting together a .773 career save percentage.
The senior captain helped Loyola earn the No. 6 seed in the 2014 Patriot League Tournament. Heading into the quarter final round, Folan and the Greyhounds posted the second-longest active shutout streak in NCAA Division I women's soccer, second to UCLA, the 2013 NCAA National Champion.
The Downingtown, Pennsylvania, native carded 10 shutouts during her senior campaign, the third most in Loyola's single season record books.
Folan was one of eight players from the Patriot League to be honored with All-Mid-Atlantic honors. The league's eight selections tied the IVY League for the second most. The Colonial Athletic Association led the way with 11 selections.
