Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's soccer team enters the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament Friday as the No. 1 seed and will face the fourth-seeded Siena Saints. The Greyhounds, who have already defeated Siena once this season, are 10-6-2 on the season. The Saints finished the regular season with an overall record of 8-7-2.
On October 13, Loyola earned a 2-1 victory over Siena. Lea Day scored both goals in the win and was later named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week for her performance.
The Greyhounds finished the season with an 8-0-1 conference record while the Saints were 5-3-1 in the MAAC.
Loyola is led in points by senior Carolyn Kennington's six goals and five assists. Senior Courtney Arikian is the leading goal scorer with seven goals with two assists. Freshman Christina Gomez has six goals and four assists this season.
Siena's Kristen Turner is the leader in scoring with 10 goals and an assist. Erinn Flaherty has added four goals and three assists.
While the Greyhounds play Friday at 4:00, the No. 2 seed Niagara and No. 3 seed Fairfield play at 7:00. The winner of the Loyola/Siena game and the Niagara/Fairfield game will play in the championship on Sunday at 1:30.
