Women's Soccer Heads to MAAC Championships

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's soccer team heads to Florida this weekend for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament at Disney's Wide World of Sports. The Greyhounds enter the tournament as the top seed after finishing the season undefeated in conference play and winning the regular season title.

Loyola, the five time reigning MAAC champions, will first face either Rider or Manhattan in the quaterfinal round on Friday, October 28 at 1:45. Rider and Manhattan will face off on Thursday.

The Greyhounds faced Rider in the final regular season game just a few days ago and came out on top by a score of 3-0. The Broncs are the eighth seed in the tournament after posting a 2-14-2 overall record and a 1-7-1 conference mark.

Loyola defeated Manhattan on October 22 by a 1-0 mark. The Jaspers are the ninth seed with a 6-11-2 overall record and a 1-7-1 conference mark.

Should the Greyhounds advance to the semifinals, that game will take place on Sunday, October 30 at 11:00 and be against either Iona or Fairfield. The MAAC Championship game is set to be played on Monday, October 31 at 1:00 and will be televised on ESPNU.
