Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's soccer team heads into the conclusion of its regular season undefeated in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. The Greyhounds visit Manhattan (11-5-1, 3-3-1 MAAC) and Saint Peter's (2-13-2, 0-6-1 MAAC) this weekend to finish the regular season.
Loyola, having not lost a conference game in 45 contests, goes into the weekend with a 9-5-2 overall record and a 7-0-0 mark in MAAC play. The Greyhounds have already clinched the regular season title and be the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Tournament beginning Friday, November 3.
Freshman Christina Gomez leads Loyola in scoring with six goals and four assists this season. She is followed by senior Carolyn Kennington who has five goals and four assists. Kennington is currently four goals short of breaking the Loyola record. Senior Courtney Arikian also has five goals this season and has added two assists. Nine other members of the Loyola squad have posted at least one goal or one assist with several contributing more.
Greyhound goalkeepers Amanda Piccirilli and Brittany Henderson have shared time in goal. Henderson has a 1.22 goals-against average and a .746 saves percentage in 14 appearances. Piccirilli has recorded a 0.30 goals against average and a .800 saves percentage in four games.
The Jaspers are led in scoring by Kathleen Kuntz's 10 goals and two assists this season. Christine Reina has added six goals and two assists while Courtney McMahon has two goals and a team-high 10 assists. Manhattan shares scoring evenly with 16 other players registering at least a goal or assist.
Starting Manhattan keeper Alicia DeFino posts a 1.08 goals against average and a .793 saves percentage.
Saint Peter's has scored just four goals this season as a team with Krissy Killbride leading the way with two tallies. Sarah Meier has added three assists while Kyle Marsh and Jackie Chikosky have each added one goal.
Jilliam Fueshko has played a majority of the minutes in goal with a 2.66 goals against average and a .748 saves percentage.
The Greyhounds visit Manhattan on Friday, October 27 at 2:00 and Saint Peter's on Sunday, October 29 at 1:00.
